Noise: Unless you can't even stand the hum from a laptop, this purifier is really quiet. Even on the highest setting, you can tune it out very easily. On the lowest setting, you can't hear it at all. Quality: When we brought it home and hooked it up, we noticed it working almost immediately. We have an old heater, so it still has that musty smell whenever we turn it on, this got rid of the smell so fast. Also, we self-medicate, so this got rid of the smell so quickly-- our apartment smells so pleasant now, and the air feels so clean, I would definitely recommend this product. Perks: No replacement filter, you simply clean the same one. - Notification for Filter Cleaning - replaceable UV light bulb, only needs to be replaced once a year. - Stand-up design. 15 of 16 people found the following review helpful i like it, By This review is from: Therapure� Air Purifier with UV Light and Permanent HEPA Type Filter (Kitchen) i also got this unit for 80 bucks with the coupon at costco. i think it works well. i have very bad allergies and live in a dusty house. i got three of these and now my allergies are much better and the house is much less dusty to the point where friends have noticed. i did not notice the plastic smell mentioned in the other review. however, this fan is very noisy on its highest fan speed which is annoying. also, it makes the house feel like the air conditioner is on which the rest of my family complains about. i leave it on low when people are in the room and when they leave i turn it back to high: problem solved. other than that, this is a good purifier. the filter is easy to clean. i have already cleaned it with my vaccum brush. it claims to remove some bacteria, viruses, and mold from the air which is always good. it didn't impress me in terms of clearing out fumes when i used it for that (after having new windows installed), but for dander, dust, and things of that nature it is a... When the sun shines in the window, you could see the dust floating in the air. After using the filter for just a few minutes the dust particles were gone. Due to that, my family purchased two more units to put my our bedrooms. Since then we have noticed that our sinus build up is gone. I sleep better and sneezing in spring is pratically gone.I highly recommend this unit. We didn't have any smell from the plastic as the other user commented. We also purchased the unit at Costco for $79 with a $40 rebate from Ameren Electric. |
